asked the Minister of Labour how many education authorities have submitted schemes for the provision of centres of instruction for unemployed juveniles; and how many of these proposals have been submitted by cities and county boroughs and counties, respectively?

Mr. STANLEY

Up to the 19th February formal proposals had been received from 77 education authorities for the provision of junior instruction centres or classes for unemployed juveniles. The authorities include the London County Council, 48 county boroughs, 25 county councils, and 3 counties of cities. Up to the same date formal proposals had also been received from 9 county boroughs and 31 counties for the admission of unemployed juveniles to existing educational institutions.
