§ 13. Captain PETER MACDONALD
asked the Home Secretary whether he 990 can state the position with regard to the introduction of new regulations or legislation to deal with non-inflammable films; whether consultation will take place with any bodies before such alteration is made in the present position; and, if so, with what organisations?
I cannot say more at present than that the draft of new Regulations under the Cinematograph Act, 1909, is not yet completed. When it is ready, it will be communicated to a number of organisations which have been in touch with the Home Office and to any other interested organisation which chooses to apply for a copy. It goes without saying that full consideration will be given to any representations made by such organisations.
§ Captain MACDONALD
Will the Home Secretary consult educational authorities before issuing new regulations which might have the effect of preventing films being used for educational purposes in the schools?
I have just said that anyone who is interested in the regulations can apply for a copy.
