HC Deb 08 November 1934 vol 293 c1265
43. Rear - Admiral Sir MURRAY SUETER

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether the Commissioners of Crown Lands will make arrangements, when letting the site of the old Geological Museum, to sacrifice a portion of the depth of the site with the object of widening Jermyn Street?

Mr. ELLIOT

The London County Council, when last consulted on this subject by the Commissioners of Crown Lands, stated that they would not be prepared to undertake a widening of Jermyn Street, but suggested that the narrow forecourt of the museum on the Jermyn Street frontage might be added to the footway there. The Commissioners would be prepared to act upon this suggestion when a new building on the museum site is erected.
