HC Deb 22 March 1934 vol 287 c1379
35. Colonel ROPNER

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether the present low price of eggs was anticipated by his Department; for what period it has been so anticipated; and whether the present information before him renders it likely that similar low prices will prevail for any other protected British agricultural product during the current year?

Mr. ELLIOT

A fall in egg prices at this season of the year is a usual seasonal phenomenon. My hon. and gallant Friend will understand that I could not undertake to forecast with precision the immediate course of prices for eggs or other British agricultural products.
