§ Sir S. HOAREIt was recently decided to send a party to investigate the mineral possibilities of ad, area known generally as Panglong, in the Wa States. As the Burmo-Chinese frontier in this region has not been demarcated and different lines are claimed by His Majesty's Government and the Chinese Government, no action has been taken to the east of the line claimed by the latter. Friendly relations have been established with the inhabitants of the area entered, but certain tribesmen and other irresponsible elements from the area to the east of this have raided into undisputed British territory. These raids have been easily repulsed by the Burma Military Police.
