§ 38. Mr. TURTONasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he has represented to the Spanish Government that the 35 per cent. rebate in customs duties on imported British motor-cars should apply as from 14th June last; and whether he will take all necessary steps to secure that the treatment accorded to this country in the matter is the complete fulfilment of the provisions of the Anglo-Spanish treaty in this respect?
§ Mr. RUNCIMANThe arrangement which I have previously described was agreed to in order to secure the earliest possible settlement of the whole matter in the interests of future trade, and I am not prepared now to re-open this particular issue.
