asked the Chancellor of the -Exchequer the number of mechanical lighters which have paid duty on importation into this country since the higher duty was imposed under the last Budget?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

Up to the 31st October duty has been paid at the increased rate imposed by the Finance Act, 1933, on 140,500 imported mechanical lighters.
