HC Deb 30 November 1933 vol 283 c1059
79. Mr. GLOSSOP

asked the Secretary of State for India if the purchase by Captain C. E. Macguckin of seven Holstein-Friesian bulls from the Carnation stock farms of Seattle, United States of America, was on behalf of his Department; if so, to what part of the Empire were they exported; and what was the reason for not placing the order with cattle breeders either in the United Kingdom or in other parts of the British Empire?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for INDIA (Mr. Butler)

I have no information as to the transaction referred to, but Captain Macguckin is an officer of the Government of India. An inquiry will be made of the Government of India.
