HC Deb 30 November 1933 vol 283 cc1059-60
80. Mr. LAW

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in view of the fact that British fishing vessels are being molested on the high seas off the coast of Norway, His Majesty's Government will take immediate steps to afford such vessels naval protection?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Eden)

I am happy to say that, as a result of conversations with the Norwegian authorities, there is every reason to anticipate that further unfortunate incidents will be avoided. In these circumstances, the question of naval protection will, I hope, not arise.
