HC Deb 13 June 1933 vol 279 c17
34. Mr. MANDER

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs the position with regard to the Four-Power Pact?

Mr. EDEN

As my hon. Friend is aware, the Four-Power Agreement of understanding and co-operation was initialed on the 7th June by the representatives of the French, German and Italian Governments, and of His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom. The text, together with an explanatory despatch which my right hon. Friend has addressed to His Majesty's Ambassador at Rome, has been published in Command Paper No. 4342 which was laid before the House on the 8th June. I hope that the formal signature of the agreement will take place shortly.

Mr. MOLSON

Is there any prospect of the various proposals put forward by the other Governments being published as a White Paper?

Mr. EDEN

The despatch itself contains a summary of the various negotiations that have taken place.

Mr. MOLSON

That is not very full. Is my hon. Friend aware that a full Blue Book has been published by the French Government, and does he not think that the information should be published in English as well?
