asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he will consider the revision of and additions to the list of stocks eligible for investment by trustees under the Trustee Acts?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

My hon Friend's suggestion is in mind, but the present is not considered a suitable time to make the revision.

Mr. TURTON

Does not my hon. Friend realise, as it is a long time since that legislation was passed, that the financial stability of a stock may possibly have altered materially since then?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

Yes, and that is the question I have answered, but I think the hon. Gentleman will agree that in present unstable conditions it would not be advisable to make the change.
