HC Deb 19 December 1933 vol 284 c1111
71. Mr. H. STEWART (for Mr. GUY)

asked the First Commissioner of Works if he can now make any further statement with reference to the proposed scheme for new Government buildings in Edinburgh?

Mr. ORSMBY-GORE

After consideration of the recommendation of the Selection Committee appointed for the purpose, I have invited Mr. Thomas S. Tait to act as architect for the building, on the terms mentioned in my reply on the 30th November to my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Dumbartonshire (Commander Cochrane) and I am glad to be able to say that Mr. Tait has intimated his acceptance.
