HC Deb 11 April 1933 vol 276 c2359
22. Mr. H. WILLIAMS

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that the Research Association of British Rubber Manufacturers have discharged many of their staff and suspended their research work for lack of funds; and whether, in these circumstances, facilities will be given for further progress of the Rubber Industry Bill?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

I am aware of the facts stated by my hon. Friend. The Government recognise that it is desirable that the work of this association should continue and have decided to give an opportunity for further discussion in Parliament of the Rubber Industry Bill. In the present state of business in this House, it is proposed to introduce the Bill at an early date in another place.
