HC Deb 11 April 1933 vol 276 c2359
13. Lord APSLEY

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether he has yet considered the findings of the Commission which investigated the allegations of the British settlers in the state of Victoria, Australia; and what action it is proposed to take in this matter?

Mr. J. H. THOMAS

I have not yet received a copy of the Commission's report, and therefore, as I stated in the House on the 4th April, I am not in a position to make any further statement at present.

Lord APSLEY

Will the right hon. Gentleman be able to make a statement fairly soon?

Mr. THOMAS

I understand that I am likely to receive a report in May.

Mr. MAXTON

Are we to understand that the right hon. Gentleman will be taking some action in the matter?

Mr. THOMAS

My hon. Friend may understand that I will read the report.
