HC Deb 25 October 1932 vol 269 c809
38. Mr. PIKE

asked the Postmaster-General whether he will consider taking steps for the free grant of wireless licences on the same conditions as those granted to the blind for proved necessitous cases of helpless cripples?

Sir K. WOOD

The issue of free wireless licences to the blind is covered by the Wireless Telegraphy (Blind Persons Facilities) Act, 1926; and the concession is expressly confined to the blind. I regret I should not feel justified in asking Parliament to extend the concession to other classes of the community.
