HC Deb 25 October 1932 vol 269 c809
37. Captain ERSKINE-BOST

asked the Postmaster-General whether it is the intention of His Majesty's Government to introduce legislation to implement the recommendations of the Bridgman Committee; and, if so, at what date this may be expected?

The POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Sir Kingsley Wood)

The recommendation relating to the financial relationship of the Post Office and the Treasury is accepted in principle by the Government, but the exact arrangements suggested are being examined and this will take some little time. When this examination has been concluded, I shall be in a position to say whether Parliamentary sanction is needed in this respect. An examination is also proceeding as to whether any other recommendations accepted by the Government will have to be implemented by Parliament.
