HC Deb 12 May 1932 vol 265 cc2060-1
17. Mr. GROVES

asked the Home Secretary the names, dates of appointments, and salaries of the personnel of New Scotland Yard, uniform, Criminal Investigation Department, and public carriage branches above the rank of superintendent; and whether any hold appointments in other branches of the public service, and under what conditions?

Sir H. SAMUEL

As the reply to the first part of the question entails a somewhat long statement, I propose to circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT. AS regards the second part of the question, Lieut.-Colonel Laurie, a Deputy-Assistant Commissioner, receives £300 (less 10 per cent.) a year as Adviser to the Admiralty on police matters.

Mr. GROVES

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether any officers in the public carriage branch also hold civil appointments.

Sir H. SAMUEL

The officer I have mentioned is, I understand, the only one.
