HC Deb 12 May 1932 vol 265 c2060
18. Mr. GROVES

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether steps have been taken to ascertain from the rank and file of the special constabulary their views on employment on ordinary duties, having regard to their enrolment in the force for emergency duties; and, if so, with what result?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Sir Herbert Samuel)

No, Sir. I have already explained that the question of employment on ordinary police duties does not arise.
