§ 16. Mr. LUNNasked the Home Secretary whether any payment is made from the funds of the Metropolitan Police in respect of the salary of Colonel Drummond, temporary personal assistant to Lord Trenchard; if so, what is the amount; and when it is expected that the services of this officer can be dispensed with?
Mr. STANLEYColonel Drummond's salary paid from the Metropolitan Police Fund is at the rate of £700 a year. The appointment is on a temporary footing, but I cannot say as yet when it will be possible to dispense with Colonel Drummond's services.
Mr. STANLEYI understand that this gentleman has special qualifications in regard to office reorganisation.
