HC Deb 10 February 1932 vol 261 cc832-3
17. Mr. DONNER

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether in view of the M 2 disaster, he will consider the application of a simple device, namely, a buoy and necessary wires or ropes, to all British submarines to be attached to the outside of the hull, and which can be released from inside, enabling the crew of a. sunken submarine to indicate their location, thus obviating delay and prolonged search?

I would refer my hon. Friend to my reply of 4th February, 1932, to the hon. and gallant Member for Dulwich (Sir F. Hall).
