§ 23. Sir PHILIP RICHARDSONasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, in view of the growing importance of road traffic relatively to railroad traffic, he will take steps to appoint a committee to consider the question of road and rail traffic in East Africa, with a view to ensuring that all expenditures of money shall be made in the most economic proportions?
Mr. THOMASThe question of road and railway traffic in East Africa is engaging the constant attention of myself and of the local Governments interested. I do not think that the present time is opportune for the appointment of a special committee.
