§ 31. Mr. FREEMANasked the President of the Board of Education how many schools have now organised a voluntary milk club; how many scholars do they include; and the proportion to the total number of schools and scholars?
§ Mr. LEES-SMITHI regret that no information is available as to the number of schools which have organised milk clubs; but I understand that the National Milk Publicity Council's scheme extends to upwards of 600,000 school children, or approximately 13 per cent. of the school population.
§ Mr. FREEMANIn view of the importance of this matter, would my right hon. Friend get this information as to the number of schools having these clubs?
§ Mr. LEES-SMITHThese clubs are organised by the National Milk Publicity Council, and they are unable to get the information. They act through the milk distributors, and not directly through the schools.
