14. Mr. MANDER

asked the Minister of Labour if she can make a statement on the state of the negotiations on industrial matters between organised bodies of employers and employed arising out of the Melchett-Turner Conference; and what the present position is?

Miss BONDFIELD

Under arrangements made between the central organisations, meetings take place from time to time for the discussion of matters of common interest.

Mr. MANDER

Is the right hon. Lady not keeping contact with what is going on in order to report to the House the situation?

Miss BONDFIELD

I have such reports as those bodies choose to send to me.

Mr. MANDER

Will the right hon. Lady make inquiries as to what is the present position?

Miss BONDFIELD

The present position is that a meeting is fixed for an early date.
