11. Mr. MANDER

asked the Minister of Labour whether, in view of the fact that complete agreement has now been reached between the Association of Joint Industrial Councils and the Trade Union Congress on the subject of the legalisation of wage agreements, the Government will consider sympathetically promoting or assisting legislation in this matter at an early date?

asked the Minister of Labour the official price-figures at the latest available date of the 4-lb. loaf in the following countries: Germany, Italy, Sweden, United States, Canada, Australia and Great Britain and Northern Ireland?

I will, if I may, answer these questions together, and, as the reply contains a table of figures, I propose, with permission, to circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

I am sorry. As regards the last part of Question Number 3, I regret that statistics showing the average weekly wage of industrial workers in the three countries named are not available.

I understand that the bodies mentioned in the question have reached an agreement of the kind described. The Government will examine the proposals when these are placed before them.

12. Mr. GORDON MACDONALD

asked the Minister of Labour if she will state the aggregate amount of wages paid in the United Kingdom during the year ended 31st March, 1921, and also during the latest financial year for which figures are available?

Miss BONDFIELD

I regret that there are no official statistics of the aggregate amount of wages paid.
