HC Deb 13 May 1931 vol 252 c1181
37. Mr. WHITE

asked the Minister of Transport the present position of the proposal to construct a ring road round the city of Chester?

Mr. HERBERT MORRISON

Part of this road is now under construction, and it is expected that work upon the remaining sections within the administrative county of Chester will be commenced this summer. A tender for constructing a section in Flintshire has been let, and I have just concluded arrangements with the Chester City Council by which a short length will be constructed within the city in order to couple up the sections in the adjoining counties.

Mr. C. WILLIAMS

Can the right hon. Gentleman say if the materials are entirely British?

Mr. MORRISON

I have already answered that question in a general way on several occasions.
