HC Deb 13 May 1931 vol 252 c1180
34. Marquess of CLYDESDALE

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will consider the advisability of issuing regulations standardising the position of controls on motor-cars, in view of the accidents which are caused or partly caused by the lack of this standardisation?

Mr. HERBERT MORRISON

I have no evidence that any appreciable proportion of accidents on roads is caused by the variation on different vehicles of the position of the controls, and I do not, therefore, consider it necessary to make regulations on the subject.

36. Sir W. BRASS

asked the Minister of Transport whether, in view of the fact that draft regulations under the Road Transport Lighting Act, 1927, in connection with dazzling headlights, are to be circulated by his Department to certain organisations in the country for comments thereon, he will have copies of these draft regulations placed in the Library of the House for the information of Members?

Mr. MORRISON

I have made arrangements for copies of the draft regulations regarding dazzling headlights to be available for hon. Members at the Vote Office.
