HC Deb 13 May 1931 vol 252 cc1179-80
33. Miss WILKINSON

asked the Minister of Transport what is the present position with regard to the Tees Bridge and when work is likely to begin on the bridge; and whether, in view of the abnormal unemployment in the town, any steps can be taken by his Department to hasten the commencement of the outdoor work?

Mr. HERBERT MORRISON

The contract for erecting the Tees Bridge at Middlesbrough has been let and active work commenced a month ago; 90 men are at present employed on the site of the works.
