HC Deb 05 March 1931 vol 249 c577
35. Mr. MANDER

asked the President of the Board of Education if he has any statement to make with regard to the future policy of the Government on the raising of the school age?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of EDUCATION (Mr. Lees-Smith)

It is the intention of the Government that the Bill for raising the school-leaving age shall be re-introduced in order that it may be pased into law under the Parliament Act.

Mr. FOOT

Is it the intention of the Government that the Bill shall be simply for the raising of the school age, or will it deal with the other question?

Mr. LEES-SMITH

It includes a provision dealing with the other question already.
