§ Mr. LEES-SMITHThe expenditure on elementary education from central and local public funds in England and Wales, 578 for the year 1929–30, amounted to £12 15s. ed. per child in average attendance. I regret that I am unable to give comparable figures for France or Germany, but I am sending the hon. Member such information as I possess in regard to the expenditure on elementary education in those countries.
