HC Deb 22 June 1931 vol 254 cc38-9
75. Mr. JAMES STUART

asked the Postmaster-General whether, in view of the continued protests from newsagents, booksellers and stationers throughout the country against the proposal that stamped picture postcards should be issued for sale at post offices, he has yet come to a decision on the subject?

77. Sir PATRICK FORD

asked the Postmaster-General if he will now state definitely his intentions with regard to the official issue of stamped postcards with photographic views; and if he will consider what effects such State subsidised competition is calculated to have on the picture postcard businesses in which numbers of ratepayers and tax payers have considerable sums of money invested?

Mr. ATTLEE

After full consideration, I have decided not to proceed with the proposed issue.
