asked the Post master-General how often pillar boxes and public telephone kiosks are re painted; and what is the cost of this operation in the London area?

The interval between repaintings varies between one and three years according to position and other circumstances; the combined cost for pillar boxes in the London postal area and kiosks in the London telephone area is roughly £2,500 per annum.
