§ 49. Mr. CHARLES WILLIAMSasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he has any information as to the size and quality of this year's potato crop?
§ Dr. ADDISONThe acreage under potatoes this year will not be known until early in August, but from present information it appears to be somewhat larger than in 1930. Although the potato season is rather backward this year, reports indicate that the yield of earlies is about average and the quality good. The appearance of the main crop was satisfactory at the end of June, with promise of an average crop, but the yield may be affected by blight, which is becoming increasingly prevalent.
