HC Deb 10 December 1931 vol 260 c2026
19. Mr. MAXTON

asked the Minister of Labour in view of the decision of the umpire given this week on the position of married women under the Anomalies Act, what steps he is taking to secure the revision of cases already refused and to bring the decisions of the Courts of Referees into line with that of the umpire?

Sir H. BETTERTON

So far as the applicants concerned have maintained registration, all decisions of Courts of Referees are being reviewed by the Insurance Officers in the light of the umpire's decisions and, so far as necessary action is being taken to secure conformity with the latter.
