HC Deb 30 October 1930 vol 244 cc190-1
32. Mr. E. D. SIMON

asked the Minister of Health the number of houses completed under the Housing Act, 1924, in each year ending 30th September, in England and Wales, from the passing of the Act to the present time; and what further houses, if any, were built during each year to be let at rents within the capacity to pay of the working classes?

Mr. GREENWOOD

As the answer involves a tabular statement I will circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Mr. SIMON

Can the right hon. Gentleman give us the very important figures as to the number finished during the current year to 30th September?

Mr. GREENWOOD

51,310.

Mr. SIMON

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether he is satisfied with that number?

Mr. GREENWOOD

No, of course I am not satisfied with that number. I should like the number to be larger.

Following is the answer:
