HC Deb 17 November 1930 vol 245 cc39-40
84. Mr. RAYNES

asked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the probable increased activity in the building industry consequent upon the five years' building programme, he will say what steps he proposes to take in order to prevent unwarranted increases taking place in the prices of building materials?

Miss LAWRENCE

With the help of the Inter-Departmental Committee on the Prices of Building Materials, my right hon. Friend will of course continue to watch very carefully any variation in the prices of building materials. He does not think it would be desirable at the present stage to anticipate the action which he might have to propose if unwarranted increases in those prices do take place.
