HC Deb 17 November 1930 vol 245 c40
74. Mr. OSWALD LEWIS

asked the First Commissioner of Works whether as so few hon. Members wear their hats in the House now, he will consider the advisability of removing some at any rate of the hat pegs that at present disfigure the panelling and detract from the appearance of the carvings in the Members' dining rooms?

The FIRST COMMISSIONER of WORKS (Mr. Lansbury)

I will consult with the Chairman of the Kitchen Committee regarding the hon. Member's suggestion.

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

Seeing that so many hon. Members talk through their hats now, will the right hon. Gentleman provide pegs upon which they may hang their speeches?

Mr. LANSBURY

I think the hon. Gentleman is a good judge of that matter.
