32. Sir F. HALLasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he has any information about the arrangements which exist between the German and the Russian Governments under which a German force is maintained in Russia to be trained as military airmen; and whether, in view of the provisions of 462 the Treaty of Versailles which forbid Germany to maintain a military air force, he will make representations to the German Government in this matter?
Mr. A. HENDERSONCertain statements on this subject have recently appeared in the Press. I have no official confirmation of their accuracy.
Sir F. HALLIn view of the fact that such action would be a breach of the Treaty of Versailles will the right hon. Gentleman get into touch with the German Government and ask why Captain Amlinger was sent to Russia for that purpose?
Mr. HENDERSONIt would be most improper for me to put a question like that to the German Government. I will do my best to find out the accuracy of the statement before I act at all.
