HC Deb 22 May 1930 vol 239 cc578-9
75. Mr. L'ESTRANGE MALONE

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been drawn to the provisions in the German-Polish commercial treaty whereby Poland will deliver 320,000 tons of coal per month to Germany; and whether, seeing that there is already a surplus of coal in Germany, any steps are being taken to ensure that this coal is not dumped in British markets?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of TRADE (Mr. William Graham)

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The treaty in question has, however, not yet been ratified and is, therefore, not in force. With regard to the second part, I am not clear what steps my hon. Friend has in mind.
