HC Deb 21 May 1930 vol 239 cc370-1
6. Mr. MARJORIBANKS

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has yet considered by what methods legal disputes between British subjects and members of the Soviet trade delegation in enjoyment of diplomatic immunity may be settled?

Mr. A. HENDERSON

Any legal disputes arising out of commercial transactions entered into in the United Kingdom by the trade delegation will, in accordance with the provisions of Article 2, paragraph 6, of the Temporary Commercial Agreement, and the additional protocol attached to that Agreement, be determined by the Courts of the United Kingdom in accordance with British law; and the privileges and immunities conferred on the head of the trade delegation and his two deputies may not be claimed in connection with such disputes.
