HC Deb 14 May 1930 vol 238 c1853
17. Sir W. DAVISON

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the British Press representative in Russia has the same facilities for transmitting news to this country as the Soviet Press representatives in London have for transmitting news to Russia, or whether there is any censorship of his communications?

Mr. DALTON

As my right hon. Friend informed the right hon. Gentleman the Member for Wood Green (Mr. G. Locker-Lampson) on the 24th of February, Press telegrams in Soviet Russia are subject to official censorship. There is, of course, no such censorship in this country.

Sir W. DAVISON

Mr. SPEAKER

I have already ruled out questions as to what the hon. Gentleman thinks.
