§ Dr. SHIELSThe Report of the proceedings of the conference has been received. According to the latest information available, the Governor, having issued writs for the election of Indian members to the seats on the Legislative Council vacated by resignation, and no candidates having come forward, is awaiting an indication that candidates will be forthcoming before issuing further writs.
