HC Deb 30 July 1930 vol 242 c463
5. Mr. MANDER

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if any communications have passed between the British and Egyptian Governments on the subject of the Egyptian constitution and electoral law?

Mr. DALTON

No, Sir, except in so far as reference was made to these questions in the Prime Minister's statement of 17th July, a copy of which was communicated to the Egyptian Government by the High Commissioner.

Mr. MANDER

Does not the hon. Gentleman appreciate, as a result of yesterday's debate, that there is no majority in this House for any policy except one of complete neutrality in all respects?

Mr. MARJORIBANKS

Are there any negotiations in progress between the Government and Nahas Pasha on this question?
