§ 78. Mr. ANNESLEY SOMERVILLEasked the Minister of Pensions whether he will reconsider the cases of the widows and children of ex-service men who die of wounds received prior to marriage?
§ The MINISTER of PENSIONS (Mr. F. O. Roberts)The liability of the State in respect of the death of ex-service men has always been limited by the Royal Pensions Warrants (applying both to the Service Departments and to the Ministry of Pensions) to the man's family obligations as existing at the date of the contraction on service of the fatal disability. No change in this long-established principle is in contemplation.
