asked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department in how many international exhibitions his Department has been asked to participate within the past five years; in how many the Department has par- ticipated; and what has been the expenditure in each case?

Mr. GILLETT

Apart from about 20 invitations to participate in international exhibitions of small scope and short duration, His Majesty's Government have received, within the past five years, invitations to participate in seven international exhibitions of the kind contemplated in the Convention relating to International Exhibitions of 1929. His Majesty's Government have participated in two such exhibitions during the period mentioned, the net cost in each case being as follows:—
