Mr. SAMUELThe value of savings certificates, excluding interest, outstanding on the 31st December, 1924, was £364,365,414, and on the 31st December, 1928, £359,808,029. The number of units outstanding cannot be exactly computed but is in the neighbourhood of 460 million units. No figures are available regarding the number of persons holding certificates.
