HC Deb 18 February 1929 vol 225 cc771-2
32. Mr. KELLY

asked the Postmaster-General when the negotiations will be completed regarding the foot-paths at Aldershot, which were left in a dangerous condition when the work of cable-laying was engaged in by the Post Office?

Viscount WOLMER

Negotiations are still proceeding and I understand that a settlement is now within sight. As mentioned in my reply to the hon. Member's question on the 22nd January, I am informed that the footpaths present no danger to pedestrians.

Mr. KELLY

In view of my previous question, may I ask if this work will be hastened; and, even if the Noble Lord sees no danger in the present state of affairs, does he not see the inconvenience caused to the people of Aldershot?

Viscount WOLMER

We have taken steps to hasten the work, and I hope it will be completed in a short time.
