HC Deb 29 November 1928 vol 223 cc586-7
37. Mr. TAYLOR

asked the Minister of Health whether he is in a position to show the financial effect of the Government's proposals for the reform of local government in the rural districts, urban districts, and boroughs in the three administrative counties of Lincolnshire, namely Kesteven, Holland, and Lindsey?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

Approximate figures based on the year 1926–27 for the County of Lincoln (Parts of Lindsey) were given in Cmd. 3134. Such considerable differences are, however, found to exist between the poor rate and the county rate valuations in many areas of Lincolnshire that it is feared that it would be misleading to give further estimated figures until the result of the new valuations now proceeding are known.
