HC Deb 22 March 1928 vol 215 cc558-9
52. Mr. STEWART

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer for what reason he has for three years in succession refused to receive a deputation representing the cinema and entertainment industries?

Mr. CHURCHILL

Deputations from this industry have been received at the Treasury in each of the last four years; by myself in 1925 and in other years by the Financial Secretary. It is necessary, and has always been customary, for some of this work to be undertaken by the Financial Secretary, and the representations of deputations are in no way prejudiced by this arrangement.
