HC Deb 22 March 1928 vol 215 c559
53. Colonel WOODCOCK

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what changes are to be made in the design and form of new Treasury notes; what reasons have called for such a change; and upon what date he expects the new notes will be put into circulation?

Mr. CHURCHILL

There is no proposal to issue a new design of Treasury notes. As regards the future amalgamation of the Treasury note issue and the Bank of England issue, I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the reply which I gave on the 17th November to the hon. and gallant Member for Montrose (Sir R. Hutchison). I am sending him a copy.
