HC Deb 27 February 1928 vol 214 c33
54. Mr. GRIFFITHS

asked the Minister of Health the numbers of widows over 60 and 65 and children at all ages in receipt of pensions under the Widows', Orphans' and Old Age Contributory Pensions Act, and what proportion of all widows these represent; whether any estimate of future numbers and proportion of widow population is available; the present and estimated future cost; and from what sources it is met?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of HEALTH (Sir Kingsley Wood)

As regards the first, second and third parts of the question, the information asked for is not available; as regards the fourth part, the cost is met partly from the contributions of insured persons and employers and partly from the Exchequer.
